For the first time it is proposed to use the method of determining the grain closed porosity when determining the absolute porosity of sandstones. This allowed to improve the existing method and get more accurate results. The study of mineral, structural and physical-mechanical properties of sandstones in the conditions of catagenesis was further developed.
