Verkin Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  The newest superconducting compounds and metal-containing spin- and charge-ordered structures are characterized by a complex hierarchy and competition of interactions of different subsystems (magnetic, electronic, phonon and others). Understanding the nature of the fundamental processes in these compounds initiates the search for new phenomena that arise in these systems and have prospects for the development of electronics and spintronics. The relevance of basic research are due to the need for purposeful synthesis of new magnetically ordered and superconducting materials and the need to obtain information about their physical characteristics in order to further improve their properties for effective use. The world-class new results were obtained in the study of the spectroscopic, transport, magnetic and elastic properties of the newest iron-containing, topological and magnetic superconducting compounds, graphene and multiferroics using magnetometry, microcontact spectroscopy, acoustic and X-ray methods and the effect of pressure. These results are important not only for the development of fundamental ideas about important patterns and new effects in these materials, but can be used for practical applications, in particular for improving non-volatile RRAM memory, for the implementation of new type of sensory devices, for example, for non-invasive diagnosis of the human body, to obtain nanoformations of inorganic materials, primarily nanotubes, nanowires and nanorods, low-dimensional materials with predetermined electronic properties.
