Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 It was found that instead of cytotoxic effect of lectin B. subtilis IMV 7724 that is observed in concentration more than 2.0 mg/ml and accompanied death of macrophages usage of immunostimulatory concentrations (0.05 and 0.02 mg/ml) of lectin cause the polarization of peritoneal macrophages in the direction of the M1 phenotype. Addition of lectin in concentration 0.02 mg/ml to the culture media of intact mice` macrophages led to a significant increase in their NO production and a decrease the Arg activity, as evidenced by an increase in NO/Arg ratio up to 1.4 times compared to control (18.6 r.u. and 13.5 r.u., respectively). Incubation of macrophages with lectin in concentration 0.05 mg/ml did not change the value of the NO/Arg ratio. IRF5/IRF4 mRNA expression ratios in macrophages cultivated with lectin in concentration 0.02 or 0.05 mg/ml did not significantly differ from such ratio in the control group. In contrast, influence of lectin in concentration 0.02 mg/ml om macrophages contributed to a significant (up to 1.7 times) increase in the STAT1/STAT6 mRNA expression ratio compared to control. Positive correlation between STAT1/STAT6 and NO/Arg ratios was also established. Product Description popup.authors Fedosova Nataliia I. Cheremshenko Nadiia L. Chumak Alina V.
