Kolomiychenko Institute of Otolaryngology of National Academy of Medical Science of Ukraine" popup.description2  Clinical, audiological and electrophysiological examination of 286 patients with sensorineural hearing loss who underwent cochlear implant surgery was performed. The condition of the vestibular analyzer was determined by assessing the postural balance and conducting the Sensory Organization Performance (SOP) test before and 1-3 days after surgery – cochlear implantation. Tonal and speech audiometry in the free sound field, registration of electric ABR and electrically induced stapedial reflex were performed; the effectiveness of auditory and speech rehabilitation was assessed using the CAP scale of auditory perception categories and the SIR language intelligibility rating. English-language versions of the Meaningful Auditory Integration Scales (MAIS) and the Meaningfull Use of Speech Scale (MUSS) were translated into Ukrainian, and culturally adapted and validated to be used to assess language development in children with deafness after cochlear implantation. The Ukrainian-language version of the questionnaires demonstrated high levels of internal compliance, retest reliability and validity. Given the exceptional relevance and demand for materials, tests can be recognized as valid and recommended for use in deaf pedagogical practice. We will develop our own information system for cochlear implantation, which provides the ability to: form a database for each operated patient, create new directories, process arbitrary statistics with results in graphs and audiograms, and create new reports on advanced queries.
