The subject of the study is the paleogeographical conditions that existed during the three geological eras of the Phanerozoic – Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic, as prerequisites for the formation of certain types of minerals in Ukraine and patterns of its formation. Based on the generalization of existing literary, stock and author's materials on paleogeographical and geological conditions of the Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic in some regions of Ukraine and analytical materials on the study of explored deposits of some types of minerals of mining and chemical raw materials (sodium salt, magnesium salt, potassium salt, barite, bromine and iodine, mineral pigments, phosphate raw materials, sulfur, bentonite), raw materials for the metallurgical industry (flux limestone, dolomites), mining raw materials (quartz sands, ozokerite) and construction raw materials (marbles, building stones, limestone and dolomites, cement raw materials, sand-gravel mixture and pebbles, marls and loams, gypsum and anhydrite, diatomite, trefoils, brick and tile raw materials) favorable paleogeographical conditions for the formation, accumulation and subsequent conservation of various types of minerals have been established.
