Contradictions in the implementation of the content of basic technological education are revealed. Psychological and pedagogical, didactic and methodological requirements for the development and implementation of the content of technological education in the gymnasium in accordance with the new State standard of basic secondary education are substantiated. A method of implementing the content of technological education in the gymnasium on the basis of competency-based learning has been developed. The scientific basis for designing the structure and content of model curricula, textbooks and manuals for the subject "Technology" in grades 5-6 and 8-9 of the gymnasium has been created. An experimental test of the effectiveness of methodological support for the implementation of technological education of high school students in pilot educational institutions in the framework of an innovative educational project of all-Ukrainian level "Development and implementation of educational and methodological support for secondary education in the implementation of the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education." Improved: - conceptual apparatus of the research problem, the formulation of basic concepts of the content of technological education in accordance with the State standard of basic secondary education is specified; - methods of development of creative thinking, solving technical problems and competence tasks by students and formation of creative personality. Further developed: - criteria for systematic analysis of programs, textbooks and manuals on technology; - pedagogical conditions for the implementation of the content of technological education.
