Applied calculations are performed, which are related to the determination of the required parameters and conditions for the implementation of free propagation X-ray phase contrast. The direct problem of forming a phase-contrast X-ray image of test objects was solved taking into account the spatial and spectral distribution of radiation. It is shown that the spectral width of the characteristic radiation does not significantly affect the shape of the distribution, so the additional filtering does not require for conducting experimental studies. Algorithms for processing phase-contrast images have been developed. Statistical estimates of efficiency were obtained by the criterion of standard error for test signals of the form "sharp" and "sloping" differences, triangular extremum and parabola. Based on the analysis of filter output signals and statistical evaluations of their quality, the high efficiency of the studied nonlinear filters and the improvements achieved as a result of the proposed filter modifications are shown.
