Simultaneous treatment of immune active PAMP – flg22, and actin-depolymerizing latB lead to enhanced plant responses in comparison to separate effect of the stimuli (chlorosis formation and callose accumulation). Callose synthase PMR4 was found to be a negative regulator of cell death induced by latB. However, callose accumulation catalyzed by PMR4 in response to latB pre-treatment is necessary for development of plant tolerance to pathogen bacteria.
