The purpose of this work is to study the sorption extraction of radionuclides of Cs-137 and Sr-90 by natural minerals, the main component of which is montmorillonite, and heavy metals - Cu(II), Co(II) and Cd(II), zinc- and magnesium-aluminum layered double hydroxides (LDH) intercalated with citrate (Cit3-) and ethylenediaminetetraacetate (EDTA2-) - ions, and composites based on them with magnetic properties. Research methods - atomic absorption, spectrophotometric, sorption in static conditions. Main results: the sorption extraction of radionuclides by natural minerals, heavy metals LDH and their magnetic composites was studied. It has been shown that sorption materials with magnetic properties are quite effective for the sorption extraction of Cs-137, Sr-90, Cu(II), Co(II), and Cd(II) from aqueous media from large volumes of water. The sorption mechanism is considered, which depends primarily on the chemical nature of toxicants (ion size, dominance of complexation or tendency to hydrolysis), as well as the concentration of macrocations in the solution, which is especially important in the extraction of radionuclides.Field of application - environmental protection.
