Technologies of using alternative fuels in the world are considered. Of particular note are the technologies of co-combustion of biomass and coal, peat and coal. The comparison of Ukrainian alternative fuels with world analogues used for heat and energy production is performed. The technical and kinetic characteristics of drying, volatile and combustion of peat coke and its mixture with gas coal have been experimentally determined.
