Based on actual statistical indicators of the distribution of changes in the hourly power of wind and solar power plants of the UPS of Ukraine for 2019, and taking into account their projected installed power levels, their specific power profiles for each day of 2040 were formed. The non-linear mathematical model has been developed to determine the least-cost optimal structure of the solar power plant equipment which a battery electricity storage system. The mathematical model has been developed for the formation of specific power profiles for the electricity supply to the power system from a solar power plant with a battery electricity storage system. Using the model of mathematical linear programming the optimal load of power plants at coverage of daily electric load curves of the power system is determined. In accordance with the current representative scenarios for the installed power capacity development, the isolated work of the UPS of Ukraine in the conditions of an increase in the share of renewable energy generation and the fulfillment of environmental requirements was modeled. It was determined that the introduction of a battery electricity storage system into the solar power plant structure affects the performance indicators of the integrated power system. Electricity generation from coal-fired power plants is reduced with a corresponding in the coal consumption reduction and in the pollutant and carbon dioxide emissions reduction. The electricity generation of nuclear power plants are increasing, the electricity generation of pumped storage power plants and the use of grid-connected energy storage systems is reduced.
