The subject of the research is the methodology of forecasting trends in general secondary education at the state and regional levels. Computer technology for forecasting key indicators of general secondary education development (number of first-graders, contingent of students, number of teachers, number of teachers and number of retired teachers who teach subjects) has been developed; the analysis of adequacy of the developed model and criteria of accuracy of forecasting of indicators of general secondary education at the state and regional levels (according to actual and forecast data of indicators for the beginning of 2020/2021 academic year) is carried out. The practical value of the obtained results is that the developed newsletters and information-analytical collections on the state and trends of general secondary education will be posted on the website of the SSI "Institute of Educational Analytics". This allows their use not only in the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, but also provides access to the general public. The use of the obtained forecast values of indicators is an important prerequisite for the development of strategic measures for the effective transformation of general secondary education in the future.
