Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  For the plasma-chemical reactor of channel type, it is shown that under our experiments the conversion factor reaches 85%, but the energy efficiency does not exceed 10% due to power losses for positive ion acceleration, cathode and tube heating, excitation of gas molecules and electron impact conversion products. It was found that the highest conversion efficiency is observed in the range of 650–1300 Pa, while the energy efficiency decreases monotonically with increasing pressure. Using an optical spectrometer, the dynamics of conversion along the length of a positive column was determined and the role of diffusion in the uniformization of longitudinal distributions of CO2, CO, O2 molecules and atoms of oxygen O and carbon C was determined. For the plasma chemical reactor of bulk type, the maximum DC conversion factor was up to 78%, while the energy efficiency of the conversion was always less than 2%. For radio-frequency capacitive discharge, it is shown that the conversion factor can reach 70%, while the energy efficiency of conversion usually did not exceed 1-2%.
