Registration Date 27-01-2022 Organization V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2 The object of study – near-Earth asteroids (NEA), including potentially dangerous asteroids that could pose a threat to human civilization in the case of a collision. The aim of the work is a comprehensive study of the physical and dynamic properties of near-Earth asteroids by combining observational and theoretical studies of their rotational and orbital motion, activity, dynamics of asteroid pairs and binary asteroids. Research methods - photometric and polarimetric observations, numerical modeling, statistical analysis of observational data. Photometric observations of 57 near-Earth asteroids were carried out during 125 observational nights. They included 6 newly discovered and 23 potentially dangerous NEAs. Observations were made at telescopes in Ukraine, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Slovakia within the framework of international cooperation. Rotation periods of 14 asteroids have been determined or estimated for the first time. The rotation of 24 very small NEAs with diameters less than 500 m was studied, of which 7 NEAs were found to have ultra-fast rotation with periods of less than 2.2 hours. New high-precision photometric data were obtained for 5 NEAs to search for the influence of the YORP effect on their rotation. For the first time, the rotational acceleration due to YORP effect was determined for the asteroid (10115) 1992 SK. According to new observational data, the YORP effect for the asteroids Geographos and Toro has been confirmed and reliably measured. Regular precession of asteroid Geographos was discovered for the first time. The first polarimetric observations of the potentially dangerous asteroid (159857) 2004 LJ1 were performed. An analytical model of the tangential YORP effect was created for a regolith asteroid surface of arbitrary shape with a specified spectrum of irregularities. A new method for the Yarkovsky effect evaluation has been proposed, which took into account an asteroid’s shape and the thermal properties of its Product Description popup.authors Belskaya Iryna М.
