Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  Object of the investigations is the lunar surface. Subject of the research are optical, structural and chemical-mineralogical properties of the lunar surface. Goal of the work: 1) determination of the state and structure of the surface layer of selected areas of the lunar surface by combining photoclinometric and stereophotogrammetric methods with the novel photometric method of phase ratios; 2) improvement of existing data of lunar space spectrophotometry for the application of nonlinear spectral mixing and optical-chemical relations models. A detailed study of the chemical composition and content of individual mineral phases in order to detect changes in the chemical-mineralogical composition under the influence of cosmogenic factors, i.e. the evolution of the lunar surface on this basis; 3) reliable separation of the influence of the surface photometric properties from the albedo spectral dependence of lunar materials by applying the project authors` novel photometric model for planning and applying the data of lunar space missions in order to exploit the lunar resources. Methods of the investigation are spectrometrical and photometrical, using theoretical analysis and computer simulation for interpreting the results. As a result of the investigation, the following results are obtained. A method for improving the hyperspectral data of the mapping spectrometer M3 which was working onboard the Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft has been developed. The method is based on λ-convolution and two-dimensional Fourier filtering and allows obtaining high-quality images of various optical characteristics of the lunar surface, which was impossible before. In particular, color index maps A(750 nm) / A(540 nm), A(950 nm) / A(750 nm), A(1.30 μm) / A(0.75 μm), A(2.6 μm) / A(1.7 μm), the position of the minima (λmin) of the absorption bands and their depths for the lunar surface, including part of the Aristarchus Plateau, the Agricola Mountains, and a small portion of the mare surface in Product Description popup.authors Velichko Sergij F Vovk Vladislav I Kaydash Vadym H.
