With the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the tendency to intensify domestic violence has intensified, which can be explained by the consequences caused by lockdowns (distance work / study, job loss, declining incomes, destabilizing the economy, increasing stress, etc.). Every year, according to the National Police of Ukraine, a certain number of families are found to have violence against family members. In particular, among them were found minors aged 16 to 18 who committed administrative offenses under Art. 173-2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses: in 2018 - 118, in 2019 - 180, in 2020 - 310 people. The main problem that prevents the timely response to cases of domestic violence by children is their high latency. Victims of violence in most cases do not report such facts to the police due to shame in front of society, recognition of their own inability as parents, and so on. Often, attempts by parents to influence, "correct" the behavior of a minor abuser, leads to further violence, but against the child. In addition, there are other problems in police bodies and units, including organizational ones. Therefore, the need to improve the organization of work of juvenile prevention units of the National Police of Ukraine with child abusers, in particular, to increase the effectiveness of measures to prevent and combat domestic violence committed by children, is obvious.
