The aim of the study is to improve the system of diagnosis and prevention of viral hemorrhagic disease in rabbits. Research methods: molecular genetic, serological, virological, systems analysis and statistical data processing. The epizootic situation regarding RHDV in Ukraine and the world is analyzed. Highly specific oligonucleotide primers have been developed for the detection of nucleic acid of the RHD virus by the reverse transcriptase chain reaction method and real-time PCR. Local isolates of the pathogen circulating in the territory of Ukraine have been isolated, they have been studied and deposited in the depository of the National Center for Microorganism Strains. Laboratory regulations for the production of vaccine against RHD have been developed. The quality of 3 series of vaccines against RHDV of the second genotype was prepared and controlled. The question of development and duration of protection against the disease on theRHD of vaccinated animals has been studied, the safety of the new vaccine has been proved.
