The purpose of the study: development and evaluation of T2D prevention methods. Research methods: physiological (oral glucose tolerance test - OGTT; actigraphy), biochemical (determination of plasma glucose, triglycerides (TG) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL-C), uric acid (UA) and gamma-glutamyltranspeptide) ) in blood plasma, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) in whole blood, C-peptide level), anthropometric (body composition), genetic (relative average length of telomere chromosomes of peripheral blood leukocytes (rLTL). Results: The studied population sample (n = 50, median age 60.5 years) of the rural population is characterized by a double predominance of women, insufficient level of physical activity and obesity. The proportion of fat estimated by various methods in women is almost twice as high as in men. Extremely low median levels of moderate physical activity (FA) were recorded at 11.4 minutes per week, which is significantly less than the WHO guidelines (150 minutes / week). No gender difference in the quantitative characteristics of FA was found. In the category of impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) lower FA values ​​were recorded. adult villagers have low levels of moderate FA. Belonging to the IGT category is associated with lower FA. Data on positive changes in glycemia and body composition during a relatively short period of use of insoluble dietary fiber by individuals with IFG are new and deserve greater study to prevent T2D in Ukraine.
