The peculiarities of electronic processes in a number of low - dimensional molecular structures have been studied, in particular, in composites of carbon nanotubes with dyes, LC blue phases of and LC doped with nanoparticles. For the first time, the formation of J-aggregates on the outer surface of carbon nanotubes with efficient energy transfer from the dye aggregate to the nanotube was observed. The proposed mechanism of aggregation is related to the self-arrangement of cis-isomers of polymethine dye molecules, which have curved π-conjugate groups and adhere well to the convex surface of the nanotube. The presence of three relaxation paths for symmetric polymethine dyes in the excited state is shown: one symmetric path and two asymmetric paths with different symmetry breaking. The first asymmetric mechanism leads to the polymethine state, and the second to the polyene state. The obtained results provide important knowledge for the design of new ultrafast optoelectronic systems based on the studied materials. It was found that in thin planar cells, which are filled with LC blue phases of the first type, a hexagonal lattice of half-scyrmions is formed with a thickness less than the lattice constant of blue phase. As the thickness decreases, this lattice transforms into the system of single half-scyrmions. Possibilities of using the results of work in the development of sensors and elements of molecular electronics have been evaluated.
