The purpose of the work to develop a new concept of "reliable" control of systems with distributed parameters, to study the influence of the accumulation of such damages on the processes of deformation and destruction of mechanical systems. Modern methods of mathematical and computer modeling and experimental methods are used. The principles of predicting the destruction of structures with the accumulation of various damages and a new concept of "reliable" control of mechanical systems at appearance and evolution of microdefects are based. The original author's methodologies: optical methods in the experimental researches of the material behavior in the vicinity of an existing and artificially created crack that made it possible to discover new mechanical effects; experimental researches of the influence of damage in the form of circular and square holes on the critical force of buckling of thin-walled cylindrical shells under separate action of longitudinal compression and torsion and the features of the critical force of buckling from the damage size are found; algorithm for simulation of corrosion degradation of the material surface of structural elements under the general actions of loads and an aggressive environment and for choosing their optimal parameters were developed. The novelty of results is due to the fact that today only a few articles have been devoted to the problems under consideration. The researches have significant advantages in comparison with the developments of other leading research centers in Ukraine and abroad. The results were published in scientometric, professional native and foreign editions, several patents were obtained.
