Research methods: mechanical methods of tensile specimen testing; fatigue testing of welded specimens; measurements of metal hardness by the Rockwell method; metallographic studies of welded joints. Research results: the structural features of the formation of aluminum alloy compounds D16 and AMg5, obtained by TIG and FSW, and different compounds D16 + AMg5, made by FSW; a comparative analysis of the degree of hardening and strength of welded joints of the studied aluminum alloys obtained by TIG and ZTP; established regularities of resistance to cyclic loading of investigated welded joints at harmonic cyclic loading; experimental studies of cyclic durability under the action of a narrowband spectrum of a random load with a distribution of the magnitude of the stress amplitude according to close to the normal (Gaussian) distribution law; for the design of FSW units proposed a modern scheme of stepless speed control based on gear variator, which describes methods for determining the main kinematic, dynamic and resource parameters of the variator mechanism, substantiates its benefits from the use of a new type of gearing.
