The aim is to create the conceptual and methodological strategy for interdisciplinary research of socio-communicative and information-communicative mechanisms of students’ socially vulnerable categories adaptation in the context of mediatization of society. As a result of the first stage of the research, the theoretical analysis of the problem was carried out, namely there was determined the source base. There were critically analyzed foreign and Ukrainian sources on social communication, strengthening the role and importance of media in modern society, adaptation potential of education system, its problems. The main approaches to the study of social communication and its features in various socially vulnerable categories, in particular during higher education, were studied. There are created the theoretical and methodological bases and conceptual basis of further empirical researches, namely the paradigm of research of student youth’s socially unprotected categories adaptation peculiarities in the context of society mediatization. As a result of the second stage of the study, methods of sociological empirical study of the current state of adaptation of socially vulnerable categories of students in Ukraine in the communicative aspect, including methods of qualitative media analysis and big data. Approbation of the developed methods is carried out. It was found that the heuristic potential of big data methods is not fully disclosed in the study of SVC due to their inconsistency with the quantitative characteristics of the subject of study.
