The object of research is the texts of different functional styles of the modern Ukrainian literary language. The subject of research is the stylistic potential of lexical, phraseological, morphological and syntactic units of modern Ukrainian literary language. Research methods - descriptive, contextual analysis, transformational analysis, method of linguistic experiment, method of associative experiment, method of statistical analysis. The practical significance of research work is related to the improvement of the process of teaching the disciplines of the linguistic cycle at the Department of Stylistics and Culture of the Ukrainian language RDHU. The results of the research will promote the intensification of scientific activity of higher education students of the Faculty of Philology of RDHU in specialties 014. Secondary education (Ukrainian language and literature) and 035. Philology (Ukrainian language and literature), and will be a good basis for their qualifications. The description of the linguistic material is based on communicative-pragmatic and functional-stylistic approaches. Particular attention is paid to the linguistic analysis of literary texts in order to systematically highlight the individual author's interpretation of the world of discourse by masters of the Ukrainian word. The basic principle of linguistic analysis of such texts is the unity of form and content. The communicative-pragmatic approach to the study of language units in texts of different styles encouraged the detailed study of dialogic speech and actualized attention to such components of the communicative situation as addressee, addressee, time, place, event intention, speech intention, communicative intention.
