The physical features of the distribution of pollutants in the environment from the ash and slag dump have been studied. An overview, generalization, systematization of existing mathematical tools used to assess the environmental impact of man-made objects is done. New mathematical tools for modeling air pollution due to dust formation on ash and slag dumps have been developed, which, unlike existing ones, take into account particle parameters, spatial and man-made surface features, meteorological factors, dust suppression intensities and wind erosion. This allows with high accuracy to assess and predict the impact of ash slag enterprises of the fuel and energy sector on the state of air and the population of the surrounding areas.
