The object of research is analytical monitoring of remote sensing methods of the Earth for search and exploration of minerals in the marine environment, used in world practice. The purpose of the work - recommendations for the development / creation of a comprehensive methodology for the search for minerals in the marine environment using remote sensing of the Earth. The research method is an analysis of practical, well-known methods and data that can be applied within the Ukrainian waters of the Black and Azov Seas. Due to the rapid technical development and the emergence of advanced technologies in the world, there are new opportunities to apply remote sensing techniques for various fields of activity, in particular, to solve problems of search and exploration of minerals. Remote sensing methods for detecting oil slicks and natural gas leaks in the marine environment have been widely used around the world since the first images of spacecraft. These primary signs of oil and gas fields are clearly recorded on radar images: Sentinel-1; Radarsat, ENVIsat, ERS, and optical - TERRA / AQUA (MODIS), TERRA / AQUA (ASTER); Landsat-8, Sentinel-2 and are successfully used worldwide to detect unexplored oil fields and gas-bearing manifestations in the oceans, where oil slicks are observed on the water surface, which are clearly recorded in both radar and optical images of space devices. Remote sensing methods of the Earth to solve geological problems in the search for and exploration of mineral deposits in the marine environment are used to detect direct signs - oil spills, gas (burning) - mostly natural methane emissions, which are sometimes engaged and recorded on the sea surface in the form of fire column) and secondary signs, such as lowering the temperature of water masses, which are associated with the release of natural gas from the seabed to the surface.
