Berezhnoy" popup.description2  The research object is vibrocast high alumina and alumina-zirconia-silica refractories. The work purpose is technology reprocessing of vibrocast high alumina and alumina-zirconia-silica (with addition of 10 % and 20 % ZrO2) refractories. The research methods are chemical, petrographic, physical-mechanical and thermo-mechanical ones. It was established that, the increase content of silica-containing component from 3 % to 7 % in the composition of alumina-zirconia-silica samples (10 % ZrO2) after firing at 1580 С decreases their shrinkage from -0.7 % to -0.3 %, apparent density 3.09 g/cm3 to 3.05 g/cm3 and open porosity from 16.5 % to 15.6 % and increases their cold crushing strength from 100 N/mm2 to 195 N/mm2. It was shown that, the increase content of zirconium-containing component from 25 % to 35 % in the composition of alumina-zirconia-silica samples (20 % ZrO2) after firing at 1580 С decreases their shrinkage from -1.3 % to -1.1 %, apparent density 3.19 g/cm3 to 3.17 g/cm3 and cold crushing strength from 160 N/mm2 to 115 N/mm2 and increases their open porosity from 15.5 % to 16.8 %. High alumina and alumina-zirconia-silica (10 and 20 % ZrO2) samples were characterized by apparent density 3.23; 3.05 and 3.17 g/cm3, open porosity 11.8; 15.6 and 15.5 %, cold crushing strength 110; 195 and 160 N/mm2, thermal shock resistance (1300 С — water) > 20 thermal cycle, respectively, were obtained. The technology of vibrocast high alumina and alumina-zirconia-silica refractories was improved. The range of institute's products and the raw material for its production were expanded. In accordance with the regulatory documentation and the terms of contracts at JSC “The URIR named after A.S. Berezhnoy” the pilot batches of highly refractory products were produced, which were transferred to consumers in the amount of financing.
