S. Berezhnoy" popup.description2  Object of research is alumina (corundum) ceramics from alumina NABALOX brand, which produced by slip casting, alumina NABALOX brand. The work purpose is improvement technology of alumina ceramics. Methods of research are chemical, petrographic, thermo-mechanical ones. The studies of alumina NABALOX brand by spectral and petrographic methods were carried out. The alumina is composed of α-Аl2О3 particles size < 4 μm prone to aggregation and content Al2O3  99.63 % were established. The influence of dispersants amount on the dynamic viscosity of alumina slips was studied. The minimum values of slips dynamic viscosity 30 mPa∙s (alumina NO brand with 0.3 % of dispersants), 70 mPa∙s and 110 mPa∙s (alumina NO RF and NO MF brands with 0.4 % of dispersants) were established. The slips were characterized by high sedimentation stability. The properties of samples which made from alumina NABALOX brand before and after firing at 1580° C were established: apparent density 2.23 g/cm3, 2.19 g/cm3 and 2.23 g/cm3 and cold crushing strength 1.1 N/mm2, 1.0 N/mm2 and 0.8 N/mm2 of green samples and apparent density 3.753 g/cm3, 2.19 g/cm3 and 2.23 g/cm3, open porosity 3.3 %, 0.5 % and 0.4 % and cold bending strength 150 N/mm2, 180 N/mm2 and 200 N/mm2 of samples after firing at 1580° C from alumina NO, NO RF and NO MF brands respectively. It was established that, the alumina NO RF and NO MF brands can be using for the production of alumina ceramics by slip casting. The technology of alumina ceramics by slip casting has been improved and the raw material base for its production was expanded. In accordance with the regulatory documentation and the terms of contracts at the pilot plant of JSC “The URIR named after A.S. Berezhnoy” the pilot batches of highly refractory products were produced, which were transferred to consumers in the amount of financing.
