The object of research is Ukrainian and European art. The subject of study is modern and retrospective features of the development of visual arts. The main goal of this complex research is analysis of Ukrainian artistic processes in the intercultural dialogue in the context of a set of socio-cultural and historical realities.Scientific novelty of the results obtained: revealed historical aspects of the development of Ukrainian art of the XVII - XX centuries; highlighted current artistic phenomena; new artifacts, artistic phenomena and personalities were put into scientific circulation; analyzed the problems of art education and design education in Ukraine. The project, which is integrated into the world trends of modern art science, solves tasks which fill in the gaps of Ukrainian art history, promote art pedagogy and intercultural communication.
