G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University popup.description2 The project's ultimate goal is to obtain fundamentally new scientific knowledge about the Ukrainian society of the XVIII-XIX centuries. The project implementation is based on a new and unique set of historical sources, which demanded significant time and resources for data collection and handling. According to the project’s timeline, desk research was carried out in the national archives during the current stage. Then, the data collection of the published and online sources was executed. The project team searched for and selected relevant and representative historical sources. The sources were diverse in terms of territorial coverage, types of sources, and their reliability. At this stage, the group processed the materials of church population records (metric books, parishes notes) and the statistical materials of the XIX century with information about prices, wages, and the public health system. Furthermore, the team members coded the data. They created three databases "Urban population of the Hetmanate according to the General Census of 1765-1769", "Population of the Left Bank of Ukraine according to the First All-Russian Census of 1897 (Dunaevtsi)", "Population of the Poltava region in the 1830s - 1840s (socio-demographic characteristics). In the resulting part of this stage, a session "Quality of life in the Left Bank of Ukraine in the second half of XVIII - early XIX century" was organized at the International Conference "Eighteenth Century: Ukrainian and Global Perspectives" (June 24, 2021, Lviv).
