The object of research are the physical and mechanical properties of rocks and the stress-strain state of roof rocks over the produced space of lavas. Analytical, numerical, laboratory and experimental researches were carried out during the work. The work performed: 1) laboratory studies of physical and mechanical properties of rocks; 2) the processes of displacement and interaction of rock layers over the produced space of lavas by means of physical modeling are investigated; 3) mine experimental research on the step of collapse of the immediate and main roof; 4) substantiated mathematical model and performed numerous studies of the formation of the stress-strain state of the forged array; 5) developed an effective way to manage the roof in the face.
