The aim of the project is to develop methods for solving a number of new problems of fracture mechanics for composite bodies of piezoactive and piezoprotective elements of crystalline and quasi-crystalline structure. A crack along the boundary between two piezoelectric regions under mechanical stress and electric field is considered. It is believed that the electric field is parallel to the faces of the crack, and the polarization of materials is co-directed with the fronts of the cracks. A special variant of the finite element method is used, which allows to determine possible contact zones of crack edges. Different electrical boundary conditions at the crack edges were investigated and compared with the analytical solution. The interaction of electrically conductive and electrically permeable collinear cracks along the boundary between two piezoelectric materials under the action of antiplane mechanical load and electric field is considered. An analytical solution of this problem in closed form for any distances between cracks, any crack lengths and any external loads of the above type is given. The rates of energy release for all crack vertices are found and their change in relation to the external load and the distance between the cracks is demonstrated. The level of growth of fracture parameters at crack approach is illustrated. Scope: aircraft construction, rocketry, microelectronics.
