Registration Date 14-02-2022 Organization Oles Honchar Dnipro National University popup.description2 The object of research is chernozems common under steppe vegetation and plantations of Robinia pseudoacacia L. and Quercus robur L. in the steppe zone of Ukraine. The purpose of the work is to study the features of the impact of forest ecosystems on the soils of the steppe zone of Ukraine in order to preserve and restore their natural fertility. Research methods - geobotanical, biogeocenological, assessment of morphological, physical, chemical properties of soils. It was found that the influence of R. pseudoacacia and Q. robur on the structural-aggregate composition of chernozem is manifested in increasing the content of aggregates of fraction 2–1 mm, as well as the formation of aggregates of fraction> 10 mm, which are absent in chernozem under steppe vegetation. The change in the physical properties of chernozem is manifested in a slight increase in density and density of the solid phase, as well as reducing its overall porosity, and these differences are more pronounced in the upper layers of chernozem under R. pseudoacacia than in chernozem under Q. robur. The effect of R. pseudoacacia planting is manifested in the reduction of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus reserves in chernozems. The effect of Q. robur planting, on the contrary, leads to the accumulation of these nutrients. The growth of R. pseudoacacia and Q. robur leads to a decrease in potassium reserves in chernozem, which may indicate its active uptake by these species. In general, Q. robur plantations are characterized by a greater positive effect on the physical and chemical properties of chernozem than R. pseudoacacia plantations. The obtained conclusions are the basis to recommend the creation of Q. robur plantations in the steppe zone of Ukraine to improve the condition and fertility of zonal chernozems. Сan be used to optimize the condition of soils in the steppe zone with the help of forest reclamation measures. Аre offered for use in agricultural enterprises and forestry departments.
