The main problems that arise in the process of creating and implementing the National Infrastructure of Geospatial Data in Ukraine are shown. The main negative consequences of gaps in the legal and organizational regulation of the creation, operation and development of the National Geospatial Data Infrastructure are identified. The main problems of solving which are a necessary component of the formation of geospatial data infrastructure for the purposes of land management, spatial planning, land management, regulation of land use and protection, etc. are highlighted. Based on the research, it was found that the approaches to the collection, content, processing and dissemination of data on geospatial objects provided by current legislation do not meet modern needs, which does not allow public authorities and local governments, individuals and legal entities to take management decisions at the appropriate levels. The system principles, which should be guided by the implementation of the National Geospatial Data Infrastructure, are substantiated: Principle 1. Design, not improvement. The optimal project is based on planning, evaluating and making decisions that involve new innovative approaches. Principle 2. Classification, not generalization. One way to integrate several comparable systems into a larger one is to create a structured system. Principle 3. Open solutions.
