Purpose of work: To improve the method of selection of selection material for beans of Phaseolus vulgaris L. according to the indicators of adaptability and to create a high-yielding variety suitable for mechanized harvesting. Research methods: hybridization, selection, field and laboratory research, production testing, statistical analysis. The main results of the research: the work was carried out in accordance with the work program and work schedule for 2021. Based on the study of the working collection on the indicators of adaptability, the selection of standards for competitive testing was carried out. A gene pool of beans with valuable economic characteristics has been created. A new source material obtained by the method of intervarietal hybridization was studied. Breeding nurseries have selected lines and numbers that exceed the standards for grain yield and quality, disease resistance, suitability for mechanized harvesting. In the competitive variety test, the best promising selection numbers were identified according to the set of characteristics: 763-19,751-19, 767-19, 766-19 and 757-19. In the previous variety test the selection numbers were the best: 835-20, 759-20, 752-20, 802-20, 801-20, 767-20, 779-20, 795-20, 808-20, 811-20, 836- 20, 842-20, 822-20; in the control nursery: 2339-20, 1010-20, 2696-20, 1933-20, 2524-20, 2666-20, 1539-20, which significantly exceeded the standards for the level of yield for the duration of the growing season up to 110 days. The weight of 1000 seeds is about 300 grams. Economically valuable traits and shape of plants of marked varieties meet the basic requirements for mechanized harvesting.
