Research methods - scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometry, electronography, photoluminescence. Research results - SiC films (thickness ~70 nm) on mesoporous Si (111) surface with pore diameter ~10÷15 nm and porous layer depth ~220 nm were obtained by chemical substitution of atoms at processing temperature 1290°С; it was found that the grown SiC layer corresponds to the polycrystalline type; the presence of both cubic and hexagonal phases in the SiC film is shown in the ratio of 80% and 20%, respectively; the positions of the photoluminescence spectra at T=300 K and T=77 K at a wavelength of ~371 nm indicate the high quality of the SiC luminescent layer.
