THERMOELECTRIC DEVICES, HUMAN EYE, DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF OPHTHALMIC DISEASES The object of investigation is thermal processes occurring during the interaction of thermoelectric converters with the human eye The purpose of the work is to create thermoelectric medical equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of ophthalmic diseases, which surpasses world analogues in its characteristics. Methods of investigation – methods of thermophysics, thermodynamics, physics of semiconductors and solid state physics, methods of mathematical physics and computer methods of object-oriented simulation, methods of thermodynamics of irreversible processes as applied to thermoelectric media and experimental research methods. For the first time, designs have been developed and prototypes of thermoelectric equipment for ophthalmology have been developed (a thermoelectric device for determining the heat flux from the surface of the eyes, a thermoelectric device in the form of a monocular bandage for contact cooling of the human eye through the eyelids, a thermoelectric device in the form of glasses for controlled local contact cooling of the human eye through the eyelids), which have no analogues in the world. Such devices make it possible to increase the efficiency of diagnosing the pathology of the organ of vision, monitor the dynamics of the development of the pathological process in the structures of the eye, increase the effectiveness of the treatment of acute and chronic eye diseases, and allow the development and implementation of the technology of controlled local therapeutic hypothermia in ophthalmology. The obtained scientific results of the work are of great importance for the socio-economic development of the country in general, since the obtained scientific and technical products are original, their qualities exceed the domestic and foreign levels.
