The purpose of the study is to develop theoretical and methodological provisions and scientific and practical recommendations for integrated management of the resource potential of railway transport in modern economic conditions. At the first stage, theoretical approaches to development management of resource potential of railway enterprises were developed, namely: improved conceptual and categorical apparatus of research, in particular, clarified the essence of the concept of "management of resource potential of railway transport enterprises" and the transformation of resources and the relationships between them in accordance with changes in the external environment, which takes into account the systems approach and considers resource potential as a dynamic characteristic. At the second stage the place and role of railway transport in the system of the economic complex of Ukraine are determined; the current state and main trends in the development of railway transport are analyzed; the hierarchy of strategic and tactical goals of railway transport development, as well as prospects of its development are considered.
