The object of the study is the process of transportation of goods in domestic and international traffic between Ukraine and the European Union. The subject of research is the methods, technical means and technologies of cargo transportation at border stations when changing the width of the railway track. Scientific results. Methodological approaches to the definition of rational directions of reconstruction and development of the railway network of Ukraine for its integration into the European transport system have been developed. An innovative approach was applied, which includes analysis of world experience, study of preconditions for scientific and technical support of sustainable development of railway transport in the international connection "Ukraine-EU", development of methodological approaches to assessing the effectiveness of railway infrastructure reconstruction and reducing energy costs in domestic and international transport. In his research work he gained a new understanding of the subject of research, which is to determine the parameters and directions of reconstruction and development of the railway network of Ukraine for its integration into the European transport system. New knowledge in this work is based on such scientific approaches as a comprehensive and detailed study of various aspects of known forecasting methods, differences in rail transport of European countries bordering Ukraine, which allowed to develop measures to improve the compatibility of international transport.
