The parameters of the Pantegov arc model are substantiated, and based on research using the MatLab Simulink software is obtained that the Pantegov model more adequately reproduces the natural characteristics of the high-power arc. The electromagnetic compatibility analysis of the specified power supply scheme of an electric arc furnace with the power on such quantities as oscillations, asymmetry and non-sinusoids is carried out. The dynamic load influence on the energy indicators of a furnace installation is also determined. The research results showed that the converter "constant current - constant voltage" usage could significantly improve the electromagnetic compatibility of powerful furnaces and power supply grids. In particular, the main negative factor - the flicker rate can be reduced by 10 times or more. Simultaneously, the voltage asymmetry coefficient is reduced by 2.5 times. The studies have also shown that the proposed furnace power supply scheme usage has a positive effect on the basic energy performance of the furnace installation, which is manifested in an arc power increases up to 12% and electrical efficiency by 5%. This will increase the productivity and efficiency of electric arc furnaces. In addition, the scheme usage allows to simplify the voltage regulator on the furnace transformer or even abandon it and to reduce the dynamic load on the conductive secondary current leads.
