Keywords: EVOLUTION, STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT, PALEONTOLOGY, STRATIGRAPHY, CORRELATION, PHANEROZOIC, UKRAINE Second Stage name: «Stages of development of the organic world as a basis of stratigraphy and correlation of Phanerozoic deposits of Ukraine». Based on a wide range of research works identified stages of biota development in the Late Paleozoic (brachiopods, conodonts, foraminifera, algae, terrestrial flora (Vol. I)); in the Mesozoic-Early Cenozoic (spicules of sponges, organic wall microphytoplankton, nanoplankton, spores and pollen (Vol. II)); in the Paleogene-Neogene (mollusks, foraminifera, ostracods, limiting microplankton, spores and pollen (Vol. III)). Patterns of connection of stages of biota development and formation of soil-bearing strata with various-scale biotic and abiotic global and regional events are identified. The Second Stage results of this research project allowed updating the biostratigraphic time scales of individual time intervals of the Phanerozoic of different regions of Ukraine according to different criteria (phylogenetic, ontogenetic, datum planes (index-species), ecological reorganization of complexes); the evolution of different types of soil-bearing strata of the Late Cenozoic by morphogenetic features is shown. The obtained materials allow increasing the level of detail of the stratigraphic schemes (the schemes are the basis for geological researches for the state needs), allows more reliable comparisons of coeval multifacial Phanerozoic deposits and make the interregional correlations. The results can be used to reflect paleoclimatic events (in order to extrapolate data to current climate change). Materials are partially published, some are prepared for printing. Research methods: classical and modern paleontological, biostratigraphic, paleoecological, paleogeographic. Product Description popup.authors Yefimenko Valentyna I. Boiarina Nataliia I.
