The actuality of the research is due to the necessity to adapt the content and forms of teaching social disciplines to professional specialization. In the case of medical universities, this means teaching with the orientation on the use in the processes of the acquisition of medical education, professional and medical activity. The research has resulted in the complex of scientific and educational-methodical publications (scientific articles, theses, monographs, textbooks and educational manuals) on the problem of the philosophy of medicine and higher medical education that can serve as the foundation for the optimization of the content and form of teaching humanities in medical institutions of higher education.
