Subject of study: cement stone, concrete, reinforced concrete and steel-reinforced concrete structures of railway transport. The study of the physical and mechanical properties of materials was carried out using standard methods, the phase composition of the cement stone and its microstructure using a complex of physical and chemical methods. When determining the stress-strain state of the structure, both numerical and experimental methods were used using existing and proposed finite element models, strain gauges that are installed both on the surface of the structure and in the concrete core (strain gauges of our own design). Regularities have been established: the joint work of external reinforcement and concrete in steel-reinforced concrete structures, incl. under conditions of temperature effects, concrete creep deformations; mutual protection of external reinforcement and concrete from aggressive influences; the impact of the electrical resistance of the outer layers of structures on the spread of electric leakage currents, potentials, the accumulation of excess charges, the intensity of their damage to concrete, changes in the strength and durability of structures.
