The purpose of the work is to develop new and improve existing technical means and methods of control of non-active power compensation means to increase energy efficiency of electric power distribution networks. Research methods – in the work, a mathematical apparatus for analysis and synthesis of automatic control systems for continuous and discrete action; theory of linear and nonlinear electric circuits; direct and inverse Fourier transform; mathematical apparatus for digital signal processing; methods for calculating processes in pulse converters of electricity are used. Modern software for mathematical modeling of processes occurring in electronic semiconductor and electromechanical energy converters is used. The proposed approaches, circuit solutions and control algorithms to increase the efficiency of the hybrid compensator of inactive power based on the active power filter and adjustable capacitor bank: - the offered methods of a choice of capacities of stages of the battery of condensers; - developed a mathematical model that includes processes occurring in the electrical network, electrical load consuming non-sinusoidal currents, and processes in a hybrid compensator with a control system. The possibility of operation of the proposed system in the mode of reactive power compensation and the mode of additional compensation of inactive components of the mains current is checked; - with the help of mathematical modeling, the theoretical substantiation of possibility of application of the offered approaches to management of the hybrid compensator is provided.
