The purpose of the work is to obtain new methods of strengthening and new types of coatings based on an integrated approach that combines the principles of forming surface strengthened layers during plasma surface treatment and layers of a composite structure during surfacing, which will allow obtaining a nanostructured coating of the front surface of a cutting tool, improving reamers for processing deep holes. Research methods: the method of calculation-experimental determination of the dynamic coefficient of stress intensity of layered materials at the stage of crack arrest based on dynamic fracture diagrams has been developed, allowing to determine the quantitative parameter of fracture viscosity taking into account crack inhibition , which significantly exceeds the integral parameter . It was determined that the inhibition of the crack at the boundaries of the strengthened and welded layers contributes to the increase in the fracture toughness of the composition, which is caused by additional energy costs for the crack to overcome these boundaries. The conducted research on ViMAO of ultra-hard ceramic samples showed that the surface quality is Ra 0.1196, and the productivity increased by 2.5-2.7 times due to ViMAO. It was established that the use of finite element modeling of cooling processes at the stage of calculations and design of the plasmatron allows taking into account the influence of the geometry of the cooled surface on the formation and distribution of flows and their velocities. It was determined that in order to obtain optimal characteristics of the part that meet the specified requirements, we must clearly understand the influence of all factors of the model preparation and printing process.
