Adding fluorine to the structure of the pinacidil molecule reduces its effectiveness in terms of activating K ATP channels. In this regard, the better cardioprotective action of flocalin is explained by its possible additional pharmacological properties: partial blocking of the voltage- dependent calcium entry in cardiomyocytes, as well as the features of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics at the level of the whole organism.
