The purpose of this work is: modeling of stable phase equilibria in binary and ternary systems, experimental study of technological and special properties of process carbon-containing additives on properties of bentonite binders and sand-bentonite mixtures, study of technological process of manufacturing cast billet of base frame assembly, and mass production, experimental establishment of dependences between carbon content in steel and layer structure at saturation with carbide-forming elements V, W, Cr, Ti. Research methods: CALPHAD-method, optical microscopy, microhardness measurement method, thermodynamic analysis, standard methods of studying technological properties of molding mixtures, CAD-CAE-systems. The results of modeling of stable phase equilibria of Fe–Ti, Fe–Zr and Fe–Ti–Zr systems are described. The results of the study of the properties of process carbon-containing additives and their influence on the properties of the components of sand-bentonite mixtures are obtained. The technological process of making the casting "Tavrovy Kut" has been studied. The design of a self-adjusting mold is developed. Technological conditions of processes of chromium plating, tungsten plating, titanium plating and vanadium plating of the surface of carbon steels are established. The scientific novelty is: in thermodynamic descriptions of Fe–Ti, Fe–Zr and Fe–Ti–Zr systems; in regularities in the influencing of additives on the properties of the components in the molding mixtures; in technologies for the preparation of the “Tavroviy Kut” faundry and the design of a self-adjusting mold.
