WATER, COMMUNITY, POLLUTION INDEX, POLLUTION MONITORING, WATER QUALITY, UKRAINE The object of the study is the environmental condition of local underground non-centralized water supply in six communities of Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Ternopil regions. The purpose of the work is to assess the composition and quality of natural groundwater samples and to determine the suitability of their use for the economic, sanitary and drinking needs of the local communities. Research methods - water samples were taken volunteer activists, the quality of water samples was determined by instrumental and laboratory methods by LLC "Ukrchimanaliz" and the Department of OLC of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Ternopil regions. The assessment of the suitability of the water supply source was carried by the methodology of DSTU 4808, the assessment of the sanitary condition - according to group indices of harmful substances limit. According to the results of the work, there was assess the quality of underground non-centralized sources of water supply in the communities of Chortkiv, Stugivshchyna, Skrebelychi, Zassky, Kurne, Gora, Revne, Martusivka, Stara Kotelnia, Novoivnytske, Volitsa, Vorzel. There was provided the general recommendations and restrictions on the use of water for various needs. Identified regularities: changes in water quality due to the state of engineering networks of local non-centralized water supply systems, and features of nitrate and bacterial contamination in wells. This study made to order ECODIYA NGO as part of the project "Perspectives for the Sustainable Development of Rural Areas", implemented in cooperation with the DRA and with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.
