Determined factors of angiogenesis (AF): (VEGF-A, VEGFR-1, Big Endothelin-1 (BE-1) in the blood plasma of 50 patients with AVMs of before and after treatment using different types of embolization means. Fundamentally new data on the etiology and pathogenesis of AVM were obtained: AVMs remain physiologically active throughout the life of the organism and undergo the growth of new vessels based on pathological angiogenesis. A comparison of the level of AF in the blood plasma of the control group (CG) of healthy individuals and patients with AVM was made: (I - small and medium AVMs, II - large and giant AVMs). The level of VEGF-A is 2,4, VEGFR-1 is 1,4, VE-1 is 1,5 times higher than CG in the I group. The level of VEGF-A is 7,2, VEGFR-1 is 2,36, VE-1 is 1,7 times higher than CG in the II group. This proves that the increase in AF in AVM occurs precisely due to the activation of pathological angiogenesis processes; Statistically proven that the production of AF occurs directly in the structure of the AVM based on the comparison of the difference in concentration of AF in the plasma of the arterial and venous blood of the AVM. VEGF-A in venous blood is 2.2 times higher, VEGFR-1 is 2.8 times higher, VE-1 is 1.8 times higher than arterial blood; Observation of the concentration of AF within 3 months from the moment of AVM treatment proves that the total exclusion and radical removal of AVM leads to a decrease or normalization of the level of AF. Partial exclusion of AVM from the bloodstream preserves or increases the expression of AF, which leads to the activation of pathological angiogenesis, progression and relapse of the disease; Analysis of AF was carried out depending on the type of embolization material. The advantage of using liquid embolization materials before particles has been proven. "VEGF blockade" may be useful as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of AVMs of various localization.  Product Description popup.authors Al-Kashkish Iyad I. Altman Igor V. Kravchik Oksana I.
