The purpose of the work is to improve the quality of processing by ensuring the effective composition and properties of diamond abrasive tools based on the obtained regularities of the grinding process. The research method is physical and mathematical modeling and experimental studies of grinding processes with wheels made of superhard materials. As a result of the research, the following were developed: methods of improving the operational characteristics of diamond-abrasive tool composites and improving the quality of processed products during grinding; models of the stress-strain state of grinding wheels and their solutions; device designs for simulating workloads on a metal-cutting machine. The degree of implementation - recommendations for the manufacture of wheels from ultra-hard materials and methods of their use, calculation models of the stress-strain state of grinding wheels, a device for diagnosing machine tools. The effectiveness of the developments is determined by: increasing the efficiency of the tool made of superhard materials, increasing the quality of processing, increasing the technological reliability of the machines. The developed recommendations, calculation models, devices and algorithms can be applied at machine-building enterprises for processing parts and improving their operational qualities. The main design and operational indicators: effective tools made of ultra-hard materials and high-quality processing of tool, ceramic and polymer materials. The main results of the research: the effectiveness of the developments is determined by the improvement of the properties of tools made of superhard materials and the improvement of the quality of grinding of tool, ceramic and polymer materials.
