Subject of research is changes in time and space of landscapes under the influence of the reservoir. Studies of the formation of hydromorphic landscapes in the Kaniv Reservoir have been conducted. Their zoning was carried out according to the degree and nature of overgrowth of the water area in the upper part of the reservoir. The dynamics of changes in the area of wetlands from 2000 to 2020 were studied. The largest increase occurs in the upper part of the reservoir. Litho-morphogenesis and soil formation on the islands were analyzed. It was noted that new soils are formed depending on the location of the sites relative to the river flow: in the frontal part are accumulating coarse silty-sand deposits, which gradually transform into turf soils; in the central part - sod and silty soils under tree-shrub and herbaceous vegetation; in the rear, organic and mineral sediments are formed more slowly. Swampy and meadow-swampy soils are formed on them under reed and reed vegetation. It was noted that the most intensive erosion processes are manifested in the central part of the reservoir on the right bank with high slopes, but they are weakened on sloping and gentle slopes, including on landslide and scree rocks, as a result of intensive overgrowth of forest vegetation under the influence of the reservoir.
